Meisje
6th of October 2025: This morning we had Twan and Madeleine over for a puppy visit, and Son came along. Outside, Meisje and her daddy Son played wildly for a bit. Meisje doesn't agree that Son has gone home and sat by the gate, waiting to see if he'll come back.

20th of June 2025: what a lovely surprise, the postman brought us a package from Julia Fisher, Bull Terrier breeder of The Milky Way kennel in Ukraine. Julia is also an International Judge and dear friend of ours.
A t-shirt, support Ukraine dog collar and leash, pin, bracelets, flag and especially fantastic the collar on the right of the photo with the red berries for Meisje. The red berries are from the Red Viburnum, a national resistance song in Ukraine. Here is the song in the Pink Floyd version featuring Andriy Khlyvnyuk of Boombox.
The song is about Chervona Kalina (Gelderse Roos). Meisje was born on the 24th of February 2023, exactly on the 1st black birthday of the war, and Julia kindly suggested Ukranian hero names, which I gave to the whole litter. Meisje's pedigree name is Chervona Kalina Varkhond, so the support collar is very special to us. Thank you Julia, Slava Ukraini.
And practically in tune with Norma, Meisje's season started today...
18th of June 2025: Meisje was on a short two day holiday at her brother Gabber, where Albert spoilt them immensely, and the three of them had a great time. In the video below a short impression of the stay, the music was Albert's dad Ab's (R.I.P) favourite song ;--)

29th of June 2024: Meisjes sister Macey playing with 'Kiss me Bente' (yes please ;-) in the garden in Denmark. Macey reminds me so much of Meisje, exactly the same way of asking 'come on, get off your bike, let's play', nice 'n' cheaky, tail wagging like she's a helicopter about to take off and a quick roll over on her back (come on, I'm not dangerous at all, let's play) great!!! Thank you Kim and Bente!
23rd of June 2024: Albert drove Peter, Gabber and Meisje to the BTCB JHD (Bull Terrier Club Belgie Jonge Honden Dag) / youth show. Albert has taken up a showtraining course and walked a fantastic first event with Gabber.
Jovanka expertly showed Meisje for us, as she has showed Norma in the past: thank you very much!
15th of June 2024: Meisje's brother Gabber and his carer Albert came around, and cooked us up a barby ;-) Thank you very much for a lovely afternoon Albert.
4th of June 2024: Albert is off to the wild animal Beeksebergen Jungle so Meisje's brother Gentle Giant Gabber is here for a pleasant stay over ;-) Nice to have him at home again for a day and night...

9th of March 2024: Meisje's brother Kay in Maastricht Wolf Howling - Bull Terrier talking. Has anyone else ever seen a Bull Terrier do this? Meisje is very vocal too, she does like a multi toned humming ;-) And she loves whistling and music, she actually dances excitedly!

It is also unfortunately the 2nd black birthday of the war in Ukraine.
I sent Julia Fischer of the Milky Way Kennel Ukraine, who came up with the fantastic heroic Ukainian names for our pups, some money for food for her Bull Terriers. Julia also shelters Bull Terriers from soldiers who gave their lives in this terrible war!!! Contact me if you would also like to donate.

24th of October 2023: tragic news from Germany, today Ab (89 years old, two weeks from 90) passed away while on holiday. Ab, dear friend, grow wings and fly, to freedom and the beloved wife you missed so much since she passed away. You are in my heart forever.

24th of October 2023: Norma, Meisje and Gabber had the Salmon heads that Albert and Ab brought us for lunch, yummy! Gabber is a really relaxed and casual eater, enjoying every bite. I think Norma and Meisje pretty much adhere to 'if I don't eat it quickly, someone else will'. The difference between single dogs and dogs that live in a pack?

24th of October 2023: after a sleepless night, no fault to the three Bull Terriers (maybe they even enjoyed the adventure?), Meisje, Gabber, Kay and Macey today celebrate their 8 months Birthday... Happy Birthday!
23rd of October 2023: Meisje's brother Gabber is on holiday with us for a week, while Albert and Ab are off on vacation to Germany with their aunt and uncle Jans and Cor. Norma and Meisje are thrilled to have Gabber here, and after an hour of wild playing they all settled down ;-)
17th of October 2023: Meisje's sister Macey and Snowie playing 'let's see if we can open the fence' in Denmark. Both look fantastic, healthy and very happy, thank you Kim and Bente! Snowie (Breslau's The Snow Queen Of Action) is Meisje and Macey's aunt, being a full half sister of Norma (they share the same mother, Cherry).
10th of October 2023: Meisje's sister Macey with their grandmother Cherry (Cherry a.k.a. 'Villensia Bressendorf', is Norma's mother) in Denmark. Golly Macey has grown, it must be that Danish Viking climate ;-)
7th of October 2023: Albert, Ab and Meisje's brother Gabbertje came round for coffee and the lovely cake they brought us. Later Leo brought fish and Oliebollen (already???). The Bull Terriers had a great time!
1st of October 2023: we visited Twan and Madeleine, caretakers of Son, Meisje's father, and Hans and Marionne, to cuddle Abbey's beautiful litter, also fathered by Son (Emred Devils Limelight). While I went off to see the litter, Twan and Madeleine, after a wild walk in the park with Son, Norma and Meisje, cared for my girls. Thank you so very much! 27th of September 2023: as of yesterday our chickens are allowed to free range in the garden again for the winter (our vegetable garden is finished for the year, Autumn). Meisje needed some correcting about chasing the chickens, but now gently and in awe follows them all around our garden ;-)
26th of September 2023: Meisje's sister Macey visiting friends with Kim and Bente in Denmark. I totally agree with Kim's comments in the video: Macey is very sociable towards dogs and people, what a lovely stable temperament, great!
24th of September 2023: Norma and Meisje afternoon nap, probably still exhausted after yesterdays adventures with Holly, and my sleepless night... Happy 7th month birthday Meisje, Macey, Gabber and Kay ;-)
23rd of September 2023: Celine, Marleen and Paul took Kay to the beach for the first time, Kay loves water!
21st of september 2023: an even bigger treat today, Celine, Marleen, Paul and Albert visited us with Meisje's brothers Kay and Gabber! Reunion party!
19th of september 2023: what a treat today, e-mails and photo's of Meisje's brothers Kay and Gabber! Kay has a new harness, gabber a bunch of new bones, probably also to distract him from chewing up the kitchen chairs ;-)

10th of september 2023: Meisje's brother Kay (a.k.a. Mini-Son ;--) in Maastricht. Kay looks fantastic and is a lovely family member.
2nd of september 2023: Albert and Meisje's brother visited us in Westzaan. Later Leo came round with herring for the three Bull Terriers and fried cod for the men. Nice!
19th of august 2023: Leo brought Norma and Meisje salmon heads (they'd been frozen previously) and later Albert and Ab visited us with Meisje's brother Gabber. Good times, bad times...

15th of august 2023: Albert took Meisjes brother Gabber to a local park (het Twiske) with lakes and beaches. Looks like they had a lot of fun! Gabbertje loves the water and great socialising with other dogs there.
14th of august 2023: Norma and Meisje with my mothers Braques d'Auvergne Rose on a trampoline ;-)
12th of august 2023:
Leo's got a weekend off and we have his Bull Terrier Dessa (Superbowls Queen of
Spades, mother of Kobus White Dog Fell From The Sky) staying with us. Dess comes
round regularly, so she is well acquainted and at home here. Meisje loves having
another playmate ;-)
5th of august 2023: Meisje's brother Gabber came to visit us this morning, Norma, Meisje and Gabber were thrilled to see each other again. Albert brought treats for the BT's and cakes for us, and even did a bit of fishing in the stream beside our house. Leo brought Herring for the BT's, me, Albert and Ab.

9th of July 2023: nice, today we had Meisje's brother Gabber over to stay with us for the day. Norma, Meisje and Gabbertje were thrilled to see each other again!
6th of July 2023: today a landscaper remodelled our front garden, removed dead bushes and trees, made a patio. Because the fence was open all day, Norma and Meisje had to spend the day inside. They were very happy to be out again, and chuffed with the result.
4th of July 2023: Meisje's brother Gabber having a lazy relaxed lie in in bed this morning, with no intention of getting up together with Albert ;-)

This morning on our sail Meisje finally stepped out of our little boat into the water of a stream: I specifically enabled this 'accident'. Of course I immediately pulled Meisje out of the water through her little harnas, and she is a very smart girl, so I think she now understands the essence of water, which is very important in Westzaan / Holland.
17th of June 2023: 4 month old Meisje and her brother Gabbertje visited the BTRN clubmatch today. We could not participate because we were 3 days too young, but it was a good socialisation day for the pups with lots of contacts with children, other pups and grown-up people and BT's.

Meisje was born today. Her pedigree name Chervone Kailina is Ukranian, and was given to us by Julia Fisher, because she was born on the Black Birthday of Ukraine. I want to thank in alphabetical order for all their help: Hans and Marionne, Kim and Bente, Marcel and Jolanda. Without your help this would not have been possible!Slava Ukraina, Heyram Slava!
